Bio

Andrea Wells is an artist drawn to the beauty of ordinary things—the fruit left on the counter, flowers beginning to fall out of their arrangement, a familiar face, a table set with something worth remembering. Working primarily in oil and charcoal, she paints with a loose, expressive hand, letting marks, movement, and imperfection remain visible.

Her work is colorful without being precious and nostalgic without trying to recreate the past. Andrea is especially interested in the things we attach feeling to: objects, people, places, and small moments that might otherwise be overlooked.

She lives in Alabama with her husband and four children and makes art in the middle of a full, often noisy life—which may be exactly why she keeps returning to the quiet things.
